clause 3 (c)

"You acknowledge that our knowledge of each Lot is partially dependent on information provided by the Seller, and we are not able to and do not carry out exhaustive due diligence on each Lot. Information provided to you regarding any Lot, including any estimates, information in the Catalogue, condition reports, or information in respect of the age of hand-coloring in maps, atlases or books, is a matter of opinion only and not a representation of fact."

clause 1 (b)

"Our description of any lot in the catalogue, any condition report and any other statement made by us (whether orally or in writing) about any lot, including about its nature or condition, artist, period, materials, approximate dimensions or provenance are our opinion and not to be relied upon as a statement of fact. We do not carry out in-depth research of the sort carried out by professional historians and scholars. All dimensions and weights are approximate only."

 "The knowledge of the auction house in relation to each lot is partially dependent on information provided to us by the seller, and the auction house is not able to and does not carry out exhaustive due diligence on each lot. Prospective buyers acknowledge this fact and accept responsibility for carrying out inspections and investigations to satisfy themselves as to the lots in which they may be interested"

"Other than as provided in the Limited Right of Rescission with respect to identification of authorship, all property is sold “AS IS” and any statements contained in the catalog or in any advertisement, bill of sale, announcement, condition report, invoice or elsewhere as to period, culture, source, origin, media, measurements, size, quality, rarity, provenance, importance, exhibition and literature of historical relevance, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or physical condition ARE QUALIFIED STATEMENTS OF OPINION AND NOT REPRESENTATIONS, WARRANTIES, OR ASSUMPTION OF LIABILITY. Neither the auction house nor the consignor shall be responsible for any error or omission in the catalog description of any property."
